Business Systems Analyst
Role Overview
The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will join our Data Loss Prevention (DLP) organization within a leading banking environment. This role sits at the intersection of business, security, and technology, helping to drive initiatives that protect sensitive data across the enterprise. You will partner with an experienced, cross-functional team to deliver strategic DLP initiatives, ensuring alignment between regulatory requirements, business needs, and technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead requirements gathering and facilitation sessions with stakeholders across security and technology teams
- Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable functional and technical requirements
- Partner with project managers and technical teams to support end-to-end project delivery within DLP initiatives
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and engineering teams to ensure accurate solution implementation
- Support data protection initiatives, including monitoring, controls, and policy enforcement
- Facilitate workshops, backlog grooming, and sprint ceremonies in an Agile environment
- Ensure documentation is complete, consistent, and aligned with regulatory and audit expectations
- Work effectively with a highly experienced team, contributing insights while navigating complex organizational dynamics

Required Qualifications/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in a banking or financial services environment
- Strong background in project delivery / project management support.
- Ability/capability to step into Project Management.
- Proven expertise in requirements elicitation and facilitation
- Detailed documentation skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and experienced delivery teams
- Familiarity with data governance, data security, or Data Loss Prevention (DLP) concepts
- Experience working in Agile / Kanban organizations and tools (Jira)
- Experience with DLP tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Symantec, Forcepoint, etc.)
- Understanding of banking regulations related to data privacy and protection (e.g., GLBA, GDPR)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in high-risk environments
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity in complex initiatives
